Day 19: León to San Martin del Camino

Not much to report on today. Walked through León in the early morning, then had a yummy breakfast on the road.

More ginormous nests. I’ve seen so many of these on the tops of churches and other buildings. Storks, I believe.

This pretty much sums up my view for much of the day. However…I walk to Astorga tomorrow, and then the Camino should get pretty again.

San Martin del Camino is a small town with not a lot happening, but apparently it has its own spaceship. 😂

Far from the best albergue I’ve stayed in, but that’s all part of the experience. The host is rather quirky. Envision Kenny G with gray hair and tie-dyed MC Hammer pants.

While the albergue isn’t the best, the ensalada mixta at the local cafe was quite good.

And I had dinner with two of my roommates, delightful Frenchmen who speak no English and little Spanish. Conversation was a bit amusing and awkward, but it was a lovely way to end the evening nonetheless.

Buen Camino!

I looked at your map ( I suppose everyone does) I am amazed at how far you have come. It must be all downhill from here (don’t you wish?)
