Day 28: Castromayor to Melide
I saw this photo by James Flad in a cafe today. It pretty much sums up today’s walk. π
We had a bit of this
A bit of this
Oh, and a bit of this
But dang, don’t Ilze and I look fabulous in our ponchos? Actually, 19 miles in pouring rain wasn’t as miserable as I expected. It was much warmer than the last stormy day of walking, the company was good, and we kept a good pace.
We found an open chapel, which is always nice.
And I’ve decided that Saint James looks a little like Gandalf.
I had the best hamburger I’ve had since arriving in Spain. It was a low bar to hurdle, but still, the burger was tasty.
And now I’m just chillin in my top bunk, surrounded by my wet laundry that will likely never dry, and thinking how surreal it is that I only have two days left of walking.
